Print orders to the kitchen, argeela room and bar
Send each part of an order to its own printer, from the cash device or from a waiter’s phone.
What you need first
- The Kitchen Tickets module switched on in Settings → Modules.
- Every printer plugged into the cash device (USB or network) and printing a normal test page.
- The free QZ Tray print app installed and open on the cash device.
Steps
On the cash device, open Settings → Preferences → Kitchen printers. It should say Print app connected. If not, open QZ Tray and press Check again.
Turn on This device prints the kitchen tickets. Do this on the cash device only.
Press Add station. Name it (Kitchen, Argeela, Bar…), choose its printer, and tap the categories it makes. Press Save, then Test print.
Mark one station Also print items that are in no station. Anything you forgot to assign prints there instead of going missing.
Take an order and send it to a table, from the POS or a waiter’s phone. Each printer prints only its own items.
What you should see
Food prints in the kitchen, argeela in the argeela room, drinks at the bar — at the same moment, with no print window. A ticket that could not print waits, and the cash device shows a bar with Print here.
Common mistakes
- Turning on This device prints the kitchen tickets on a phone. Only the device the printers are plugged into can print — the phone just sends.
- Closing Sahel or QZ Tray on the cash device. Orders from phones then wait until it is open again.
- Renaming a printer in the computer’s settings. The station still has the old name — choose the printer again and save.
