Privacy Policy
1Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly when creating and using an account:
- Account Information: Email address, store name, and password.
- Business Data: Products, inventory, sales transactions, customer records, employee and payroll records, and expenses you enter.
- Usage Data: Log data, browser type, and device information needed to run and secure the Service, and error reports when something breaks.
2How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Sahel Service.
- To process transactions and send related communications.
- To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- To send important notices about the Service (billing, security, policy changes).
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud or technical issues.
3Where and How Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored on servers in Germany (European Union). We protect it with:
- Encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) for all data sent between your device and our servers.
- Passwords and till PINs stored only in hashed form — never as readable text.
- Access checks in the application that keep each store's data separate from every other store, reviewed and strengthened on an ongoing basis.
- Nightly backups, with a copy kept in a separate storage location.
4Service Providers We Use
We do not sell or rent your personal or business data. We share it only with the providers that help us run the Service, only for that purpose:
- Hetzner Online (Germany) — servers, database, and backups.
- Resend — delivery of emails the Service sends (account, billing, and the marketing emails you send to your customers).
- Sentry (EU region) — error reports, so we can fix problems.
- Google — Google Analytics on our public website, and Google Workspace for our own email.
We may also disclose data when required by law or legal process, or with your explicit consent.
5Your Customers' Data
When you record your own customers in Sahel (names, phone numbers, emails, birthdays, purchases), you decide what is collected and you are responsible for having the right to collect it. We process it only to provide the Service to you: we do not use it for our own purposes and we do not contact your customers ourselves.
- Every marketing email sent through Sahel includes an unsubscribe link. A customer who unsubscribes will not receive that store's marketing emails again.
- Pages your customers open from a QR code (receipt ratings, menus, repair tracking) do not use analytics.
6Your Rights
- Access: You can access all your data at any time through the Service.
- Export: You can export all your data in standard formats (CSV, JSON).
- Correction: You can update your information at any time.
- Deletion: You can ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing rashed@getsahel.com. We complete the deletion within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep certain records longer. Copies inside backups disappear as those backups expire, within a further 30 days.
7How Long We Keep Data
We keep your data while your account is active. If your account ends, you can still export your data for 30 days (see the Terms of Service); after that it may be permanently deleted.
8Cookies
We use essential cookies for sign-in and session management. Google Analytics cookies are used only on our public website (for example the home, pricing, and sign-up pages) to understand overall visits — not inside the app, and not on pages your customers open. We do not use advertising cookies.
