Can I take preorders on a device before it arrives?
Yes. Build a preorder catalog of devices you expect to stock — model, colour, storage and price — before any of them exist in your inventory, and take paid reservations against it. Collect a deposit as a fixed amount or a percentage with a minimum you set, give the customer a delivery promise (a fixed date, an estimate, a range, or not yet confirmed), and print or WhatsApp them the preorder slip. When the shipment arrives you receive it against the preorder and convert it to a sale — the deposit comes in as prepaid credit, so the customer only pays the balance.
How do I know how many units to order?
Your preorder list is the answer. Every paid reservation is counted against the device, so before you commit to a supplier order you can see exactly how many units are already sold.
Can I track phones by IMEI?
Yes. Capture the IMEI or serial on each unit, scan it to sell the exact device, and keep a complete history with warranty and repairs attached.
